White River Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K

The 2024 White River Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K for Kenya will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Cotter Schools in Cotter, Arkansas.

This event boasts one of the flattest and fastest courses in the United States, offering an ideal opportunity for those aiming to set a personal record or qualify for the Boston Marathon. The course, with picturesque views along the renowned White River, guarantees a memorable experience for participants.

All races start at 7:00 am.

Beginning at a high point, the course descends a mile along the river in an out-and-back style, concluding at a lower elevation to ensure no uphill running.

Both the Marathon and the Half Marathon and 5K races begin and end at Cotter Schools, finishing at Cotter’s Big Spring Park.

The final two miles of each race include a two-mile stretch on a compacted and fine gravel pathway, with the remaining course paved in asphalt. Conveniently located aid stations are provided every two miles for participants’ support and refreshments.

• The marathon course is an out-and-back route, completed twice.
• Start: Cotter School, beginning with a one-mile downhill stretch (Out 1).
• Turn around at mile 6.8 (Back 1).
• Turn around again at mile 12.45 (Out 2).
• Another turn around at mile 18.2 (Back 2).
• Finish: Big Spring Park.
