California International Marathon (CIM)

The 2024 California International Marathon, will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024. It is known for being the fastest course in the West and ranks among the top 10 largest US marathons.

The California International Marathon holds the world record for the deepest performance marathon, boasting more Olympic Trials Qualifiers than all other US marathons combined.

Certified and sanctioned by USATF, the event serves as a qualifier for both the Boston Marathon and the U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon.

The marathon kicks off sharply at 7:00 a.m. The picturesque course features a point-to-point, net-downhill design that has remained unchanged for 40 years. Starting at Folsom Dam, the marathon concludes at the historic California State Capitol.

Expo Details:

• Friday, December 6: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, December 7: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Packet Pick-up Details:

• All packets must be picked up at the CIM Expo; no race day pick-up.
• Runners need a government-issued photo ID and confirmation QR code (marathon only).
• Relay teams provide the team name and runners’ names; one member picks up for the entire team.
• If someone else is picking up your packet, they need a copy of your final instructions with the QR code (Marathon Only) and a copy of your photo ID.

Aid Stations:

• 17 aid stations with enthusiastic volunteers from local schools and community groups.
• Each station offers water, sports drinks (nuun), medical support, and portable toilets.
• GU Energy Gels and fruit are available at 4 locations; GU flavors may vary.
• Carry your supplements if dependent on specific nutrition.
• UC Davis Health provides medical assistance at relay exchanges, aid stations, and the finish line.
• Portable toilets are available at each aid station and relay exchange zone.
