Surfer’s Path Half Marathon

The Surfer’s Path Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 7:00 AM PDT, at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, California. The 13.1-mile journey unfolds along the Monterey Bay coastline, providing participants with breathtaking views and encounters with world-renowned surf breaks.
The start location is at the intersection of Beach St. and Cliff St., across from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Arcade, situated at 400 Beach St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060. The finish line for both events is situated at Cowell’s Beach, 109 Beach St., Santa Cruz 95060, adjacent to the entrance of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf. It’s a short walk from the start line and all recommended race day parking areas.
The course is managed at a pace of 15 minutes per mile. Participants who are passed by the event crew will be instructed to move onto the sidewalk. Once on the sidewalk, adherence to all traffic laws designated by the County of Santa Cruz is mandatory.
Each half-marathon finisher will receive a commemorative finisher’s medal at the finish line. Post-race activities take place on Cowell’s Beach, where participants pick up their surf-inspired event shirts, receive post-race food, and partake in the finish celebration.
Surfer’s Path Half Marathon Packet Pick-Up
Participants can collect their race packets on Friday, April 12, from 5 pm to 7 pm at a location to be determined (TBD). Additionally, packet pick-up is available on Saturday, April 13, from 10 am to 4 pm at another location yet to be decided (TBD). For individuals unable to attend the designated packet pick-up sessions on Friday or Saturday, there is an option to pick up their race bib on the morning of the race for a fee of $10.
Aid Stations and Restrooms
Throughout the course, aid stations will be conveniently positioned approximately every two miles, providing participants with water and electrolyte fluids. Restroom facilities will be available at the start, at each aid station, at the turnaround point in Capitola Village, and at the finish line.

Parking
Parking is available at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with a fee of $30 for the entire day. For additional parking options, Depot Park at 119 Center Street in Santa Cruz offers alternatives. Metered parking is available in the surrounding area, and there is also free parking in the vicinity.

- $100.00 for registrations from Jan 1 to Mar 31.
- $115.00 for registrations from Apr 1 to Apr 13.
- $125.00 for registrations on Apr 14.
