Litchfield Hills Road Race

The 2024 Litchfield Hills Road Race will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm on West Street in Litchfield, Connecticut and is celebrating its 47th year. Drawing runners from across the U.S. and beyond, this challenging 7-mile course welcomes participants of all skill levels to experience New England’s scenic beauty.

The route features lively crowds, entertainment by bands, and the notorious Gallows Lane, a steep hill at the beginning of the final mile, rated #8 by Runner’s World Magazine.

Despite the intensity, generous water stations are available, and some spectators might offer adult runners an ice-cold beer.

Water

Hydration stations are strategically positioned at the starting line and key mile marks: mile 1, mile 2.5, mile 3.5, mile 5, mile 6, and mile 6.5.

Parking

Ample parking options include the municipal lot, St. Anthony’s Church, Litchfield Town Hall, Litchfield Center School, and more. Secure your parking spot by arriving early!

Restrooms

Portable toilets will be conveniently set up on Litchfield Village Green and various locations along the course for participants’ convenience.

Refreshments

Runners can find post-race food in the finish corral, with each participant receiving a food coupon to be redeemed at the Litchfield Lion’s Food booth.

To register, visit the official website of the Litchfield Hills Road Race. Registration for the event costs $50.00 per bib, with the option for day-of registration available. Please note that credit cards cannot be accepted for payment. While numbers may be limited, there is no guarantee of available numbers for the day of registration, and the fee for the day of registration is $60.00.

For those opting for day-of registration, the registration tent opens at 10:00 a.m., providing an opportunity for packet pickup and on-the-spot registration. It is important to note that the registration tent will close promptly at 12:45, so participants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure timely registration.
