The Carlsbad 5000, known as the World’s Fastest 5K, is will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2024, along Carlsbad Blvd in Carlsbad, California. This event has been a spring tradition in Southern California since its inception in 1986, offering a full weekend of running festivities. Recognized as the ‘World’s Fastest 5K,’ the race warmly welcomes participants of all ages and paces to tackle a rapid oceanfront course, providing breathtaking views and a spirited atmosphere.
In addition to the famous 5K race, the event also features the All Day 20K. It’s a tradition at the Carlsbad 5000, where participants, regardless of age or gender, get to dive into four exhilarating 5K races throughout the day, totaling 20K. Between races, before and after the final sprint, All Day 20K runners can kick back, recharge, and take advantage of the gear check and private bathrooms available in the All Day 20K Recovery Zone. It’s your time to own the run!
World’s Fastest 5K
This legendary road race encompasses nearly two miles along the stunning Pacific coastline, offering panoramic views of the sandy shores and surf of Carlsbad beaches. The flat and speedy course commences on the downtown seaside streets, weaves through palm tree-lined Carlsbad Blvd, and concludes with an exhilarating, spectator-friendly finish in the heart of Carlsbad Village. The course, known for setting world records, is USATF-sanctioned and certified. Following the race, participants can enjoy the Carlsbad 5000 Health & Fitness Expo and indulge in the legendary Pizza Port Beer Garden for a memorable post-race experience.

All Day 20K
The All Day 20K Pre-Race & Recovery Zone serves as a designated area for participants to utilize before, between, and after their four 5K races. Runners will enjoy access to massage and recovery equipment, food, fuel, drinks, and private bathrooms. The area will also feature a secure Gear Check for storing personal items throughout the day.

Health and Fitness Expo
Taking place on Saturday, April 6th, and Sunday, April 7th, the Health and Fitness Expo will be held at Village Faire in Carlsbad (The Race Site/Expo).
Parking
Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis in and around the Carlsbad Village area and beyond. There is no designated parking for the event; it is all street parking. Please familiarize yourself with local parking rules and regulations before leaving your vehicle for the day.
