Cheshire Road Races – Half Marathon and 5k

The 2024 Cheshire Road Races, featuring a half marathon and 5K, will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Cheshire High School in Connecticut. The half marathon is set to commence at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:38 a.m. This event stands as the largest community event in Cheshire, contributing funds to various charities such as Abilities Without Boundaries, Best Buddies CT, and Cheshire Lions Club. Throughout the event’s history, it has donated over $1,000,000 to these charities and other commendable causes.

This year’s race is limited to 2,000 participants, with a primary focus on ensuring the safety of participants, volunteers, and sponsors by adhering to or surpassing all State and local health protocols. The event also includes the Healthy Living Festival, providing an excellent platform for companies and local businesses to showcase their products and services, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Race amenities encompass tech t-shirts for the first 2,000 5K and Half Marathon registrants, as well as medals for half marathon finishers. The post-race celebration features live music, food, entertainment, an awards ceremony, and kids’ activities, including inflatable amusements, ensuring enjoyment for the entire family.

Cheshire Road Races – Course Amenities

  • Certified ½ marathon and 5k courses with split times.
  • Both courses are relatively flat and include significant stretches on the Farmington Canal Trail.
  • On-site medical personnel are available.
  • Seven aid stations for the ½ marathon, with a corresponding water station map.
  • One aid station for the 5k.
  • Generation UCAN Hydrate is offered on the half marathon course.
  • Portable toilets are positioned along the race course.
  • Course volunteers guide and assist runners.
  • Cheshire Police oversee traffic direction on the course, with details in the local traffic advisory.

Cheshire Road Races – Packet Pickup

📍 Venue – Cheshire Nursery (1317 South Main St., Route 10 in Cheshire)
Participants are welcome to collect race packets on behalf of family and friends. Photo ID is not necessary.

📅 Saturday, April 20 – 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Parking

Due to limited space, parking at the event is highly restricted. Participants, volunteers, and spectators are strongly advised to consider carpooling. Parking options are provided at Cheshire High School and Bartlem Park. It is recommended to arrive early on race day to ensure convenient parking.

The 5K route goes through picturesque Cheshire neighborhoods, with only a few turns and a flat path. It’s an ideal course for all runners!
