We discuss:

  • How she got started in running despite “not being a runner”.
  • Her wildlife encounters with bears, deer, elk, and even wolves.
  • Trail running vs. road running.
  • Her worst running moment and how she turned a complete running meltdown into a positive experience.
  • Her experience suddenly being thrusted into the lead of an ultramarathon relay.
  • The joy of running a team race and encouraging or finding encouragement in other runners.
  • Making memories through tough times (as well as good times).
  • The natural support system for back of the pack, mid pack and lead runners of races.
  • Cross training, rest and recovery and the importance of having fun.
  • Her next big goal: A 100k ultra in September which is also a Western States qualifier. Good luck Stefanie!
